Sunday, April 19, 2026 – Confusion to Clarity (Alive Again — Living Resurrection Every Day)
Where Are We Headed This Week?
Sometimes disappointment doesn’t look like failure—it looks like confusion.
The Emmaus road is filled with it.
The disciples aren’t angry… they’re disoriented.
They thought they knew what Jesus was going to do—and now nothing makes sense.
And that’s often where we live also.
This week, we discover that resurrection doesn’t just change the future—it reinterprets the past.
Jesus meets us on the road of confusion, walks with us in our questions, and slowly turns our hearts from cold uncertainty to burning clarity.
A Deeper Look
Luke 24 gives us one of the most human resurrection stories in Scripture.
These disciples are leaving Jerusalem—not running, just… walking away. Processing. Trying to make sense of what just happened. They had hope: “We had hoped he was the one…”, but hope has turned into disappointment. And then Jesus shows up—but they don’t recognize Him.
That’s key. Because resurrection often meets us in ways we don’t immediately understand.
Jesus doesn’t correct them right away. He walks with them. He listens. He lets them tell their story.
Then He begins to reframe everything—not by changing their circumstances, but by opening the Scriptures. And later, at the table, something shifts.
Bread is broken.
Eyes are opened.
And they say:
“Didn’t our hearts burn within us?”
This is resurrection life:
- Confusion gives way to clarity
- Disappointment is reinterpreted
- Presence awakens something deeper than understanding
Resurrection doesn’t erase the road—it redeems it.

Weekly Practices
Practice: Walk It Out
Each day this week, take a short walk (5–10 minutes if possible).
As you walk, reflect on:
- Where have I felt confused or disappointed lately?
- What expectations didn’t turn out the way I thought?
- Where might Jesus already be walking with me—even if I don’t recognize Him yet?
Then pray: “Jesus, help me see what You are doing.”
Don’t rush clarity.
Sometimes hearts burn before eyes open.
