Friday, April 10, 2026 – Called by Name (Alive Again — Living Resurrection Every Day)
The Short of It
Resurrection is not just something that happened long ago—it is something that happens personally.
Jesus meets us in ordinary moments, speaks into real places of grief and confusion, and calls us by name. What begins as uncertainty becomes recognition, hope, and new life.
Summary of the Week’s Readings
Isaiah 25:6–9 (Monday)
God promises a future where death is defeated and sorrow is removed. This is not just survival—it is restoration into joy.
Psalm 118:1–2, 14–24 (Tuesday)
What is rejected becomes the cornerstone. God works through reversal, turning what looks like failure into the foundation of something new.
Colossians 3:1–4 (Wednesday)
Because we have been raised with Christ, our identity is now rooted in Him. We are invited to live from this new reality, not our old patterns.
John 20:1–18 (Thursday)
Mary’s encounter with Jesus shows that resurrection is personal. Recognition happens when Jesus calls her by name.
Thread of Grace
Resurrection becomes real when it becomes personal.
This week reminds us that God’s work is not distant or abstract. He meets us in grief, in confusion, in ordinary spaces—and calls us into new life. What God promises (Isaiah), what God reverses (Psalm), what God reshapes (Colossians), and what God reveals (John) all lead to the same truth:
You are not just invited to believe in resurrection—you are invited to experience it.
A Simple Practice to Carry Into the Weekend
One Step Toward the Light (10 minutes):
- Find a quiet moment and reflect on where you most need hope right now
- Gently ask: “Jesus, where are You meeting me in this?”
- Sit in silence and imagine Him speaking your name with care
Closing Prayer
Jesus,
Thank You that resurrection is not distant—it is personal.
Thank You that You meet me where I am, not where I pretend to be.
In my questions, in my doubts, in my ordinary life—you are present.
Help me carry this truth into the days ahead.
Remind me that You are still speaking, still calling, still bringing life where I least expect it.
Teach me to recognize Your voice.
And give me the courage to respond.
Amen.
