Where Are We Headed This Week?

Resurrection is not just something that happened—it is something that happens to us.

This week begins in a garden, in grief, in confusion. Mary Magdalene comes looking for a body and finds something she cannot yet understand. The turning point is not the empty tomb—it is a voice calling her name.

Before resurrection becomes a message to proclaim, it is a moment to receive.

This week, we explore what it means to be personally known by the risen Jesus—and how that changes everything.

A Deeper Look

John’s resurrection account is deeply personal and intentionally slow. There is no rush to explanation. No immediate clarity. Just confusion, tears, and searching.

Mary stands outside the tomb weeping. Even when Jesus is right in front of her, she does not recognize Him. This is important. Resurrection does not always announce itself in obvious ways. It often meets us in ordinary moments—through presence, not spectacle.

The turning point comes with a single word: “Mary.”

Jesus does not begin with proof. He begins with relationship.

In that moment, everything shifts. Grief turns to recognition. Confusion gives way to clarity. The one who came to mourn becomes the first witness.

This is the pattern of resurrection life:
Not information → but encounter.
Not explanation → but recognition.
Not distance → but intimacy.

Resurrection is not just something to believe in.
It is someone who knows your name.

Each day this week, create a small moment of stillness and ask:

• Where am I searching for life in places that feel empty?
• What emotions am I carrying—grief, confusion, disappointment?
• Can I imagine Jesus meeting me right here, not after I fix things?

Then sit quietly and simply pray:

“Jesus, help me hear You call my name.”

You don’t need to force an experience. Just make space.

Resurrection often begins not with a breakthrough—
but with a whisper.
