Friday, March 27, 2026 — Week 5 Recap (Puzzled — Putting Our Lives Back Together)

The Short of It

This week met us in the places we’ve quietly written off.

The places that feel too far gone.
Too broken.
Too late.

But again and again, Scripture showed us something unexpected:

God is not intimidated by what feels finished.

He moves toward it.

And where we see endings…
He speaks life.

Summary of the Week’s Readings

Ezekiel 37:1-14 (Monday)

Ezekiel stands in a valley of dry bones—completely lifeless and beyond repair. Yet God asks if life is still possible and then speaks restoration into what seemed permanently lost.

Psalm 130 (Tuesday)

The psalmist cries out from the depths, bringing honest pain before God. Even in the lowest places, hope begins to rise through trust in God’s faithful character.

Romans 8:6-11 (Wednesday)

Paul reminds us that the Spirit of God brings life where death once ruled. True life is not something we manufacture—it is something we receive.

John 11:1-45 (Thursday)

Jesus stands before a sealed tomb and calls Lazarus back to life. What everyone else believed was over becomes the very place where God reveals His power.

Thread of Grace

God speaks life into what we’ve given up on.

Across every passage, we see the same movement:

From dryness to breath.
From depths to hope.
From death to life.

God does not avoid the valley.
He enters it.

He does not ignore the tomb.
He stands before it.

And then He speaks.

Not empty encouragement—
but life itself.

A Simple Practice to Carry into the Weekend

Name and Release (5–10 minutes):

  • Sit quietly and name one area of your life that feels beyond hope.
  • Hold it before God without trying to fix it.
  • Slowly pray: “God, speak life here.”
  • Sit in silence and simply remain open to His presence.

Closing Prayer

Lord,

You see the places we have stopped believing.

The quiet losses.
The hidden grief.
The things we’ve accepted as finished.

But You are the God of life.

You meet us in the valley.
You hear us in the depths.
You stand before the tomb.

And You speak.

Speak again into our lives.
Breathe life into what feels empty.
Call us out of what we thought was over.

We trust You.

Amen.
