Sunday, February 15, 2026 – Transfiguration Sunday (Series: Seeing Clearly Week 2)
Where Are We Headed This Week
Transfiguration Sunday invites us into a moment of holy clarity. Just before the journey toward the cross begins, Jesus is revealed in glory. His purpose is not to impress but to prepare His disciples for what lies ahead. This week is about seeing Jesus as He truly is, even when that vision disrupts our expectations.
Seeing clearly does not always mean understanding everything. Sometimes it involves recognizing who Jesus is. It requires trusting Him enough to keep following when the path leads downward from the mountain.
A Deeper Look
Each of this week’s readings centers on moments when God’s presence becomes unmistakably real. In Exodus, Moses ascends Mount Sinai and enters the cloud of God’s glory. God reveals Himself not for spectacle, but for covenantal purpose. The mountain is holy ground, yet it is not a place to stay.
The psalm readings proclaim God’s sovereign authority. They remind us that God reigns not through chaos or fear. Instead, God reigns through holiness, justice, and faithfulness. God’s glory is inseparable from God’s character.
Peter, reflecting years later, insists that the transfiguration was not a myth or spiritual metaphor. It was a real moment when God’s glory was revealed in Jesus. This confirmed that Christ is the fulfillment of God’s promises. In the Gospel, the disciples are given a glimpse of Jesus in radiant glory. They are told not to build shelters but to listen to Him.
Together, these texts help us see clearly. Moments of revelation are given not to elevate us above the world. Instead, they strengthen us for faithful obedience within it.

“Jesus, help me listen to You—especially when I don’t fully understand.”
