1 Corinthians 1:18–31

A Devotional Moment

We are drawn to what looks strong, confident, and successful. We trust voices that sound certain and systems that promise results. Even in faith, we can quietly assume that God’s work should look impressive—clear wins, visible power, and undeniable influence.

But Paul names an uncomfortable truth: the center of our faith is a cross. An instrument of shame. A symbol of obvious failure. If we’re honest, it’s not the image we would choose to represent authority.

And yet, Paul insists that this is exactly where God’s wisdom is most clearly revealed.
