Psalm 30:5 — “Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

I am sitting in my office at home today doing some church work and looked up for a moment and almost missed this! The sunrise breaks through a world that’s still frozen — trees glazed with ice, ground hard from the storm — and yet, the light finds its way through. It’s a quiet reminder that God’s hope isn’t stopped by the cold seasons of life.

After the storm, the landscape may still bear the marks of what it’s been through, but the light announces something new: the darkness didn’t win. Storms will come and go, seasons will change, and tomorrow might be uncertain, but the light always comes, every morning to give us hope. The same God who paints the sky each morning also breathes renewal into weary hearts.

We often walk through “frozen” moments — tiredness, uncertainty, disappointment, pain, suffering — but today’s sunrise whispers the truth: hope always breaks through. God’s mercies are new every morning, not because everything’s easy, but because He’s faithful.

So as we start this week, let’s carry the warmth of that light with us. The storm may have left its mark, but the sun still rises — and so does our hope.

Reflection

Where have I seen God’s light breaking through the “frozen” places in my life?

Prayer

“God, thank You that Your light still shines after the storm.
Melt the cold places in my heart with Your presence,
and let Your hope rise in me today.”
